With deep sadness, Una let all know that Zorntok was not able to return from the earth circle a couple days ago at Mist Burrow, near South Fork.
With no strong fighters at the outpost, the adventurers did what they could when farmers wife said her husband dragged off by monstrous spiders. We all went to cave to try to rescue farmer. But, spider like none Una and Zorntok see before in all of their travels!! Monstrous, huge spider, that we couldn’t kill. Zorntok think he saw farmer deep in cave and tried to get to him. The spider grabbed him, dragged him deep into cave and ..*sob*...ate him.
Zorntok showed no fear in battle. He just know he have to help farmer wife and find her husband. Una say he died as he lived … bravely and honorably. Una will miss him greatly.
Una has hired Blossom Trading Co, to deal with his estate as she does not have the heart to handle it. They should be posting to the message trees soon, if they have not already.
Una will now go off to grieve alone as is customary to her guardians tribe.

Una,
This is truly sad news, as soon as there is time I shall preform a spirit farewell in his Honor.
I know this is a difficult time for you, but could you tell me more about this spider? How large was it, did it have any distinctive markings?

Goodman Grimworm, please allow me to introduce myself. I am Leon Blossom, of the Blossom Trading Company. Una, as you may well imagine, is deep in greif and may or may not be able to answer your questions. Regarding this spider thing, it is my understanding that Goodman Zorntok was accompanied by many other brave adventurers in this venture, perhaps someone else could speak up and give this fellow a description?
Sincerly, Leon Blossom Blossom Trading Company

Una,
I am sorry to hear about Zorntok, I wish I would have acted faster and stopped the spider from feeding on him. Gabrielth and I attempted to stop it from feeding upon Galen, we succeeded, but in the process I was captured and it began to eat me as well.
Decard,
I don't recall any markings upon the spider. The cave was very dark, all I remember is it was a large, lumbering spider. Seemed it was almost immune to magic.

Kain,
Una truly appreciate those that tried to help Zorntok when he was fallen. Una blame no one but Una. It was her charge to pick Zorntok up when he fall down. She failed this time and it cost Zorntok his life. Thanks to all that tried to help.
Decard, No, Una don't remember any markings on the spider. It was huge, and Kain is right...it seemed to be immune to most things that were thrown at it except ice...and maybe fire.
Leon, Thank you for taking care of Zorntoks estate for me. I will be in touch soon.
Una

hmmmm....
This does not sound like anything I have seen before, I will send word to the scouts to see if they have came across such a beast.

I am again sorry for Zorntoks death, I had hoped to have been there and maybe I could have helped. But time was against me with my other duties. If I get into this area I will certianly look for those spiders, and with a strong enough group, perhaps we can couse them to choke on the memory of the fallen.
Not that I have any doubts that Zorntok probably gave the spider a belly ache just for spite.

Kain,
Thanks for saving me from that large spider. I would have died if you hadn't risked your life. I am indebted to you and Gabrialth. I was sick for quite some time and have just recently started to feel better. As for this spider infestation, I do have a bit of information that I learned from farmer Jack's wife. As I walked her back to the tavern, she said that everything had been peaceful in the area, except for the usual problems, but then something about men dressed in black with masks began appearing and that is when the spider problem came to a head. So maybe some scouting and spying to figure out who these men/humanoids are would help solve the problems? I have to head back to Birchfield to attend to some family matters, but will head back as soon as my affairs are taken care of.
